Hot tub control boards and error messages
A blank display, stopped heater or error message does not by itself prove that the circuit board has failed. The display, sensors, water circulation, connected equipment and control system need to be considered together.
Send the exact message and spa information
- Photograph the display without opening an electrical enclosure.
- Share the spa brand, model, approximate age and when the symptom started.
- Say whether the pumps run, whether water moves, and whether the problem followed a refill or power interruption.
- Include your city and ZIP so we can discuss a service visit.
Messages vary between control systems and software versions. Use the manual for your actual spa; a code from another brand or model may mean something different.
Why a flow or sensor message needs diagnosis
Manufacturer guidance distinguishes flow, temperature and sensor conditions. A heater may be disabled because the system detects a problem elsewhere. Replacing the board before identifying the cause can leave the original fault unresolved.

Repair, replacement and compatibility
For a control replacement, the technician checks the existing pack, topside, supply requirements, heater and connected pumps before choosing compatible equipment. A similar-looking board or plug is not enough to establish compatibility. We discuss the proposed part and work before proceeding.
Ocean Spas offers a standard 30-minute diagnosis and repair visit for $100, parts extra. A qualifying single pump, heater or control-board replacement during that visit has a total visit and replacement labor price of $150; parts are extra. Other work is quoted separately.
When to stop using the spa
If a breaker repeatedly trips, there is a burning smell, damaged wiring, water near electrical equipment or an overheat warning, stop using the spa and arrange service. Do not bypass sensors, safety devices or breaker protection, and do not open or test energized equipment.
