Noisy pump, weak jets or no circulation?

A noisy pump or weak jet flow needs diagnosis before deciding on a replacement. Restricted flow, a refill-related airlock, controls or the pump itself can affect operation. Ocean Spas can inspect hot tub equipment and discuss the repair options for your model.

Describe the pump behaviour

Include the spa brand and model. If you already have a safe, accessible photograph of the pump label, it may help identify the equipment. Do not reach into an operating equipment compartment to obtain one.

What you can check safely

Refer to your model’s manual for water level, normal jet settings and routine filter care. Keep hands out of electrical equipment. Do not loosen plumbing, bypass protection or attempt wiring work to make a pump run. Stop using the spa if there is a burning smell, repeated breaker trip, leak near electrics or insufficient water.

Pump repair or replacement?

The technician needs to identify the fault and equipment specification before recommending a part. Describe any sound or error code rather than ordering solely from the symptoms. Ask what the proposed repair covers, whether a part must be ordered and whether a return visit is needed.

Current pump replacement labor pricing

A standard 30-minute diagnosis and repair visit is $100; parts are extra. For one pump replacement completed during the same visit, the total visit and replacement labor is $150, including that $100 fee. The pump itself is extra. Multiple replacements, other work and return visits need a quote.
